Interactive Reports vs PDF

Portable Document Format (PDF) is great if the goal is to re-create paper in an electronic format.

Where reports are solely being filed, read, reviewed, and shared electronically, why mimic paper

We don’t expect a website to mimic paper.  Rather, we would rather have the ability to interact (e.g. ‘build and price’ features on car manufacturer websites) and search and navigate in a way that the technology allows.

PDFs still serve where the document is required or desired to be printed.

Also, annotations are currently a bit easier on PDFs and we will continue to also provide our reports in PDF format, but we view them as a legacy technology.

An interactive document is a much better user experience and makes for a more easily navigated and understood report.
